Dear
North Central neighbor:
The North Central Phoenix Homeowners Association is improving its neighborhood electronic communication vehicles
to enable a variety of more complete, faster and useful information to be disseminated to our members and other interested
parties. We are creating a three-prong capability which will serve distinct purposes, allow flexibility
for future applications and provide easy access while maintaining privacy.
ncpha.org - is the official website of our association. On-line
as of March of this year, it is the foundation from which all other applications will be launched. It will
provide Association, neighborhood, and municipal news and events, directories of local and pertinent resources, and business
opportunities for advertising and promotion. It will also be the home site of the NCPHA Quarterly newsletter which will summarize
information for the up-coming three month period.
NCPHA e-mail directory – is a secure, private data-base of e-mail addresses that wish to
receive communication on neighborhood matters of immediate purpose. The information will include subject
matter limited to NCPHA news and our quarterly newsletter, as well other pertinent neighborhood information such as municipal
correspondence and meeting notifications, zoning change applications, election dates/poll locations and Block Watch bulletins.
(Newsletters will be only sent out electronically, as we are conscious of reducing our carbon footprint.)
It will not endorse political candidates, publish notices of missing
or found pets, private garage sales, promote church, school or other charitable causes, or communicate personal opinions,
messages of congratulations, announcements or condolences. IT
WILL NOT REVEAL RECIPIENTS’ NAMES OR ADDRESSES NOR ALLOW FOR PERSONAL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN LISTEES. (Recipients will
be able to unsubscribe at any time.)
NCPHA Facebook Page –enables neighbors and friends to openly communicate directly with each
other in an uncensored environment. It’s a place where neighbors can get to know each other and discuss
what’s on their minds and let us know what’s happening in the neighborhood. Within our Facebook
Page, we will encourage neighbors to keep us up to date on what’s happening and provide an easy broadcast medium for
missing or found pets. It will be a venue where participants may raise political issues, campaign for school
board membership, announce yard sales, seek baby sitters or invite neighbors to their Super Bowl Party. This
social network will promote neighbor talking to neighbor, improving and strengthening neighborhood bonds. I
encourage you to go to Facebook.com and sign on to become a “friend” of the North Central Phoenix Homeowners Association.
All of the above is currently
in the works. I am personally self–learning and hope to have everything established, entered and
up and running by Christmas. We are actively recruiting a volunteer web-page manager/editor to administer
this program in my place. If you are interested or know of someone who you think would be interested, please
contact me.
Once we are ready, you will
be able to communicate and receive information much more efficiently. If you are a member of a smaller
neighborhood group that already has e-mail communication, encourage your board to share your list with us; all privacy issues
will be maintained. But, you’ll have the advantage of all the greater potential listed above, in
addition to continuing your own group’s objectives.
I look forward to the NCPHA becoming the best-recognized neighborhood association in the city, one that will
help attract new residents, preserve/raise our property values, expand the educational opportunities for our children and
maintain our very cherished quality of life.
